Upon graduation, Fathan joined The Attorney General’s Chamber appointed as Legal Counsel under the Civil Division. A year later he was then appointed to serve The Judiciary as a Magistrate for 3 years and then as a High Court Registrar, Deputy Official Receiver and Coroner for another 3 years. Fathan then joined as partner with Messrs. Fathan, Rudi Lee, Annie Kon & Associates, focusing mainly on conveyancing matters. After 7 years he then left the firm and joined BIBD At-Tamwil Berhad as Senior Legal Counsel and Deputy Head of Recovery in the Recovery Department for the following two years before establishing Messrs. Fathan & Co.
